Can an Anonymous Prophetess Speak? : An Intertextual Study of Isaiah’s Prophetess Wife and the Daughter Zion Metaphor

본 연구는 이사야서 8장 3절에 단회적으로 등장하는 이름도, 목소리도, 서사도 부여되지 않는 이사야의 예언자 아내에 대한 상호텍스트적 탐구를 다룬다. 우선 본문에서 이 익명의 여 예언자에게 주어진 아내로서, 어머니로서의 한정된 역할을 분석한다. 그 다음 구약성서에 등장하는 이름 있는 여 예언자들이 각 시대 상황 속에서 어떻게 자신의 이름과 목소리, 서사를 갖고 예언자로서의 직무를 수행했는지를 살펴본다. 이어서 구약성서의 역사 기록에 등장하는 이름 없는 여인들이 위기 상황 속에서 어떻게 목소리를 내고 서사를 갖는지 탐구하며, 예언 문학에서의 유사 사례들이 언약 관계의 유비 관점에서 어떻게 묘사되는지 분석한다. 마지막으로 이사야서의 딸 시온 은유를 분석하여, 비록 제한적이지만 목소리와 서사가 부여되는 사례를 발견하고, 상호텍스트적 관점에서 이사야의 아내로 알려진 익명의 여 예언자의 목소리와 서사를 재조명할 수 있는 가능성을 논의한다.

This study is an intertextual exploration of Isaiah’s prophetess wife, who appears only once in Isaiah 8:3 and is not given a name, voice, or narrative. The study first analyzes the limited role of this unnamed prophetess as a wife and a mother in the text. Next, it examines how named female prophets in the Hebrew Bible, within their respective historical contexts, possessed names, voices, narratives, and carried out prophetic duties. The research then investigates how unnamed women in historical books of the Hebrew Bible expressed their voices and had narratives during crises, and how similar cases in prophetic literature are described from the perspective of covenant relationship analogies. Finally, by analyzing the metaphor of the Daughter Zion in the Book of Isaiah, the study aims to uncover instances where, albeit limited, voices and narratives are assigned and to discuss the potential for reinterpreting the voice and narrative of Isaiah’s unnamed prophetess wife from an intertextual perspective.
