A Brief Analysis of the Song Dynasty Social Welfare Model

The social relief model of the Song Dynasty demonstrated the maturity and innovation of the ancient Chinese relief system, which formed a comprehensive social security system in the context of economic and cultural prosperity. Based on the experience of the previous generation and the real needs of society, it essentially constituted a government-led, multi-participation, effective, and wide-coverage relief model. Although the relief model of the Song Dynasty was influenced by the era and the feudal ruling class, it was not without limitations. However, its institutionalization, comprehensiveness, and diversification provided an important reference for the social security system of later generations.
