Protection of Ecological Security in Xinjiang: Issues and Countermeasures

Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) is one of China’s largest provinces and regions, covering approximately one-sixth of the nation’s total land area. It is situated in the interior of the continent, connecting Asia and Europe. With the global greenhouse effect intensifying in recent years and the impact of human overproduction and existence, ecological and environmental issues have emerged as one of the most pressing concerns in Xinjiang. Following a thorough examination of Xinjiang’s issues with water scarcity, land desertification, excessive human activity, and biodiversity, the author suggests a number of solutions. These include scientific water resource management, bolstering efforts to prevent and control desertification, optimizing human activity, and strengthening.In order to promote the sustainable development of the ecological environment in Xinjiang and realize the benefits of both economic development and ecological protection, the author suggests a number of countermeasures, particularly the scientific management of water resources, strengthening the prevention and control of desertification, optimizing human activities, strengthening the protection of biodiversity, and establishing a cross-border mechanism for cooperation in ecological security and protection. acknowledge the positive relationship that exists between ecological preservation and economic growth.
