국내 대학의 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정 현황 조사를 통한 개선 방안 제안 - 교육 담당자 심층면담을 바탕으로

Improving the Operation of Korean Language Curriculum for Academic Purposes in Domestic Universities : In-depth interviews with instructors

이 연구에서는 외국인 유학생의 다양한 요구를 수용하기 위해서는 국내 대학의 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정의 운영 현황을 살펴볼 필요가있다고 보고, 학위 및 비학위 과정의 교육 담당자 6명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 면담 결과, 어학연수 기관의 교육 담당자들은 일반 목적 교육과정과 구분되는 학문 목적 교육과정만의 차별성과 입학후 교육과정과의 연계성을 확보하는 데 어려움을 느끼고 있는 것으로나타났다. 학위 과정 내 한국어 교육과정의 교육 담당자들은 유학생간 한국어 수준의 차이가 커 실질적인 수업 운영이 어렵다고 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정 운영의 어려움을해결하기 위해서는 교사 및 교육 담당자가 참고할 수 있는 표준적 성격을 지닌 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정을 개발할 필요가 있으며 특히학문 목적 한국어 교육과정의 하위 유형을 세분화하는 것에 주안점을둘 필요가 있음을 확인하였다.

In-depth interviews were conducted with six representatives who managed the Korean Language Curriculum for Academic Purposes in both degree and non-degree programs. The results of the interviews showed that officials at the language training institutions had difficulty differentiating academic Korean curricula from general curricula and securing connections with postgraduate programs. Degree program officials commented on the difficulties in conducting practical classes due to the substantial differences in Korean language levels among international students. To address these difficulties, this study proposes that it is vital to focus on categorizing the curriculum when developing a standardized Korean Language Curriculum for Academic Purposes.
