외국인 대학원생들의 학업 수행 기술에 대한 고찰 - 학습자, 교수자 요구 분석을 중심으로

A Research on Study Skill of the Foreign Graduate Students : with the Concerning on Needs Analysis of the Learners and the Lecturers

본 연구의 목적은 한국의 대학원 석·박사 과정에서 공부하는 외국인 유학생들에게 요구되는 학업 수행 기술을 고찰하여 대학원 진학을 목표로 하는 학습자들이나 현재 대학원에 재학하고 있는 외국인 대학원생을 대상으로 하는 교육 과정 설계에 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 학문 목적 한국어의 학업 수행 기술에 관한 선행 연구를 검토하여 학업 상황에 따른 학업 수행 기술을 분류하였다. 또한 이를 토대로예비 설문지를 작성 후 설문 조사와 인터뷰를 한 결과, 위의 분류를 수정보완하였다. 수정 보완된 목록으로 본 설문지를 작성하여 학습자 및 교수자·한국인 동료 대학원생들의 요구 분석을 한 결과, 외국인 대학원생들에게 요구되는 학업 수행 기술에 대해 학술적 한국어의 기능별, 즉 학술적말하기, 학술적 쓰기, 학술적 읽기, 학술적 듣기 등으로 재분류하였다. 또한 대학원에서 외국인 대학원생들의 원활한 학업 수행을 위한 몇 가지 제언을 하였다.

This research looks into the study skills overseas students in Korean graduate schools require , and provides the research results for future overseas graduate students and the institutions planning to design education programs for them. Preceding researches on the study skills that could be learned in Korean languages classes for academic purposes were examined, and, consequently, the study skills were classified depending on the different study situations. Further, the classifications were supplemented and corrected based on the results drawn from the preliminary questionnaires and interviews conducted. With the revised classifications, questionnaires were renewed, interviews redone, and the needs of the students and teachers analyzed. The final results were examined to redefine the required study skills for overseas graduate students in Korea—academic speaking, academic writing, academic reading, and academic listening. The conclusion of the research puts forward helpful and supplementary proposals for designing education programs for overseas graduate students.
