아제르바이잔에서의 한국어 교육 현황 및 과제

On the Present State and Development Plan of Korean Language Education in Azerbaijan

본 연구의 목적은 아제르바이잔에서의 한국어 교육 현황을 살펴보고앞으로 이곳의 한국어 교육을 발전시키는 데 있다. 이에 아제르바이잔에서의 한국어 교육 현황을 크게 학위과정과 비학위과정으로 나누어설명하고 그에 따른 문제점과 과제를 제시하였다. 아제르바이잔의 다른 나라에 비해서 한류의 확산 속도나 그 수준이 미미하며 이곳의 한국어 교육은 현재 총 네 군데의 대학교에서 한국어학과나 한국어센터등을 운영하고 있으며, 세 곳의 사설 한국어 학원이 운영되고 있다. 또한 자발적으로 한류 문화를 즐기는 모임이 생겨났으며 이들 중에는 독학으로 한국어를 배우는 자들도 있다. 이처럼 한국어를 배우고 있는학습자들은 큰 폭은 아니지만 꾸준히 유지되고 있으나 다음과 같은 과제를 안고 있다. 첫째로, 아제르바이잔에서는 아직 한류 열풍이 일어나지 않았다. 그러므로 전략적으로 한국에 대한 관심을 키우려는 노력을 해야 한다. 둘째로, 현지인을 위한 한국어 교육 자료가 매우 부족하다. 현지의 특성을 살려 이들을 위한 적합한 교육 자료를 만들어야 한다. 셋째로, 제대로 된 자질을 갖춘 한국어 교원이 필요하다. 한국어 석. 박사 과정 및 현지인 한국어 교원 양성을 위해서라도 교원의 전문성이반드시 요구된다. 넷째로, 현지에서 채용된 한국어 교원의 처우 개선이 되어야 한다. 이렇게 열악한 교원 처우와 불안정한 고용이 지속된다면 질 좋은 한국어수업은 보장할 수 없다.

This studyexamines the Korean education system in Azerbaijan to develop thefuture of Korean education in Azerbaijan. The Korean education systemcan be divided into academic degree and non-academic degree courses inAzerbaijan. Issues and challenges on the course come up with this study. This year is the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan Korean education. However,the Korean Wave does not spread faster than any other countriesand does not have high level of achievement. Korean companies inAzerbaijan make good impression of Korea that Azerbaijani have afeeling of familiarity with Korean. There are four universities operate Korean classes such as in Koreanlanguage departments and Korean language centers. There are also threeprivate schools teach Korean. Some other people study Korean bythemselves and several private meetings increase gradually. There are some reasons why they have less interest in Korean Languagethan other countries. Firstly, the Korean Wave has not come yet inAzerbaijan that people are less concerned about it. We need to think howAzerbaijani get more interested in Korea. Secondly, there are not enoughacademic materials and textbooks for Azerbaijani. Less study causes lackof qualified educational materials and textbook. Thirdly, there are notenough qualified teachers. Most of the teachers are good at Azerbaijanilanguage but poor at Korean education system. There is also not enoughstudy of Korean language. To improve professionalism of the teachingmore depth study is needed. Fourthly, Korean language lectures need to be given better than treatment. Moreover the study should be progressed with locality that helps todevelop the Korean language education in Azerbaijan.
