이 연구의 목적은 초등 현장에서 담임교사의 관찰평가를 통하여 아동의 발명영재 판별을 위한 기준 을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 영재의 정의와 특성, 발명영재의 정의, 특성, 관찰평가의 특성에 대해 알아보고, 관찰평가 기준을 설정하고 관찰평가 문항을 정한 후에 개발한 관찰 평가 문항이 학교 현장의 교사가 관찰이 가능한 지를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영재라 함은 ‘재능에 뛰어난 사람으로서 타고난 잠재력을 계발하기 위하여 특별한 교육을 필요 로 하는 자’라고 정의될 수 있고, 발명영재는 ‘과학 ․ 기술 관련 지적능력 및 실천적 지적능력이 높고, 강한 성취동기, 호기심 등의 개인적 성향을 지니며, 발명영역에서 뛰어난 성과를 나타내거나 나타낼 잠 재력이 있는 사람’으로 정의될 수 있다. 둘째, 관찰법은 발명영재와 관련한 수학적, 과학적, 기술적, 공학적인 지식과 문제해결의 수행 능력과 같은 인지적 영역뿐 아니라 발명에 대한 태도와 신념과 같은 학습자의 정의적 영역까지를 평가할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 지필 검사를 통해서 양적으로 확인할 수 있는 학생의 발명영재적 능력이나 사고에 대하여 보다 심화된 자료를 얻을 수 있다. 셋째, 관찰 평가도구 중 정의적 행동 영역에서 전체적인 문항의 평균치가 3.17∼4.41, 인지적 행동 영역에서 3.66∼4.16, 심동적 행동 영역에서 3.96∼4.22의 범위로 나타났다. 따라서 발명영재를 판별 하기 위해 개발된 관찰평가 기준의 정의적, 인지적, 심동적 행동의 모든 영역에서 초등교사가 평소 수 업시 아동들의 행동 관찰 평가가 가능한 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to develop the standard for child's invention gifted distinction through the observation evaluation of teacher in elementary school. For this, it considered the definition and the characteristics of gifted and invention gifted, the characteristics of observation evaluation, verified whether or not teacher can observe about the observation evaluation items. Results of this study were as follows: 1. Gifted can be defined a person who is needed the special education for improvement of native potential ability as a person of excellent talent. Invention gifted can be defined a person who has the potential ability that shows or will show the excellent results at invention area, having personal disposition of powerful achievement motivation, curiosity etc, having the intellectual ability related to science ․ technology and high hands-on intellectual ability. 2. The observation method has a merit which can evaluate the emotion area like attitude and confidence about invention, which can evaluate the recognition area like knowledge of mathematics, science, technology, engineering and problem solving ability relating invention gifted. 3. In the observation evaluation standard, emotion area shows the average value 3.17∼4.41 of total items, recognition area shows 3.66∼4.16, activity area shows 3.96∼4.22. Therefore, this observation evaluation standard for child's invention gifted distinction can be observed about the observation evaluation items while teacher is teaching the students at classroom.
