이 연구는 체계적인 문헌 고찰을 통하여 발명영재에게 요구되는 발명 창의성의 개념을 정립하고 발명영재의 창의적 성향을 분석함으로써, 발명교육의 질적 향상에 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발명 창의성을 정의하기 위하여 어원적, 사전적, 학문적 정의로 구분하여 ‘발명’과 ‘창의성’의 개념을 고찰하여 결합하였다. 발명이라는 영역 특수성 관점에서 발명 창의성은 새로운 것을 만들거나 아이디어를 생각하고 행동하려는 것으로, 창의성이 발명의 영역 안에서 풍부한 상상력, 창의적인 능력, 발명의 행위 및 과정, 발명품 등으로 발현되기 위한 특성으로 정의한다. 또한 발명 창의성의 검색 동향은 2009년부터 2014년까지 검색이 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 수행되었다. 둘째, 중학교 발명영재의 창의적 성향은 t-검증을 통하여 확인한 결과 성별 및 학년별 집단의 평균 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 세부적으로 살펴보면, 중학교 발명영재는 발명에 관한 호기심 및 민감성, 발명을 위한 열정, 발명에 대한 자신감 및 모험심 영역에서 성별 및 학년별 집단의 평균 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 발명 성취를 위한 인내심에서는 학년별 집단의 평균 차이가 유의한(p<0.01) 결과가 나타났다. 또한 중학교 발명영재는 1학년이 2학년 보다 창의적 성향의 평균이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 발명교육에서 발명 창의성에 대한 이해를 높이고 발명영재 창의적 사고력 및 성향에 대한 구체적인 연구가 필요함을 제언한다.
This study is conducted to establish the concept of invention creativity required of invention gifted through the systematic review, to analyze creative personality of invention gifted and to contribute to providing basic data to qualitative improvement in invention education. The results of this research are as follows. First, ‘invention’ and ‘creativity’ are classified as etymological, encyclopedic and academic definition and considered then combined in oder to define the concept of invention creativity. From the view point of domain-specificity, invention, invention creativity is to make new things or think of new ideas or act, that is, creativity is defined by the characters for being manifested as fertile imagination, creative ability, act or process of inventing and invention in the domain of invention. Also, the trend of searching the net for invention creativity from 2009 to 2014 conducted steadily. Second, a t-test of the creative qualities of middle school invention gifted revealed that there was no average difference by gender and school year. In detail, there are no mean differences of the invention gifted middle school students in accordance with their gender and grade in curiosity, sensitivity, passion, self-confidence, and adventurism for invention. The mean of the group in accordance with the grade, however, shows significant differences(p<0.01) in the part of patience for invention achievement. In addition, the mean of the creative personality is higher in invention gifted middle school 1st grade students than 2nd grade students. Based on the above study results, improvement of understanding about invention creativity in invention education and the detailed study of creative thinking and characteristics will be required.
