This article aims to present an analytical introduction to the development and advancement process of an English major course, <English Literature and Women>, with its emphasis on the student-participatory teaching method when it comes to combining interdisciplinary subjects such as gender studies and English literature. Among many issues considered in opening the course, two main concerns were as follows: the uncertainty in student preferences for feminism-related topics was the one, and the other was the low student participation caused by the global spread of the pandemic. While the demand for gender studies and feminism has rapidly grown for the past decade, the backlash has also been stronger than ever and the gender conflict has been pointed out as one of the major social problems in our society. Moreover, in a situation where student participation has dramatically decreased due to the aftermath of the unprecedented pandemic, the application of a new teaching method was not only advisable but also crucial. As a result, this course, initially offered as an E-Learning lecture, has been restructured by implementing PBL (Problem-Based Learning) module, and it has proved to be the key factor in encouraging students to engage in more meaningful projects and therefore providing effective learning system.
