Objectives: We aim to propose effective directions for improving treatment, rehabilitation, and support for drug addicts in South Korea. Methods: By conducting focus group interviews, we captured the feasibility, urgency, practicability, and importance of drug addiction support projects and policies, and we also identified key review items. Based on these identified items, we conducted a delphi survey with addiction experts and recovering drug addicts who had experience in drug addiction prevention, treatment, and management, and then proposed measures based on practicality. Results: First, we found that the establishment of specialized treatment and rehabilitation institutions is essential for the treatment of drug addiction. Second, we found that it is necessary to have a control tower to integrate drug addiction as a treatment area and system- atically manage it from hospitalization to treatment and rehabilitation. Third, we determined that it is urgently necessary to increase budgetary support for the treatment of drug addicts. Conclusion: This study suggests important policy priorities for future measures to treat and rehabilitate drug addicts, and it also ex- plores concrete ways to expand support, such as strengthening access to drug treatment and management institutions; these findings are expected to be reflected in policies targeting addiction.
