미국의 자국어 AI 디지털 교과서 분석을 통한 국어과 개발에의 시사점

Implications for Developing Korean Language AI Digital Textbooks through Functional Analysis of U.S. Language Art AI Digital Textbooks

목적 본 연구는 국어과 AI 디지털 교과서 개발을 위해 미국의 자국어 교육용 AI 디지털 교과서를 분석하고, 시사점을 도출하기 위한 연구이다. 방법 이를 위해 AI 디지털 교과서의 주요 기능을 바탕으로 ‘학생’, ‘교사’, ‘공통’ 차원에서 미국의 자국어 교육용 AI 디지털 교과서를 분석하였다. 결과 Redbird Language art&Writing(McGraw-Hill) 및 IXL Language arts(IXL Learning)를 분석한 결과 학생, 교사, 공통 차원의 시사점을 도출하였다. 결론 학생 차원에서는 실제적인 언어 수행과 사고력을 평가하는 진단 문항의 개발, 인지와 정서를 고려한 개인별 최적의 학습 경로 및 콘텐츠 추천, 사회적 상호작용이 가능한 콘텐츠 제공, 국어과 영역별 AI 튜터 제공이 필요함을 시사하였다. 교사 차원에서는 학습자의 언어 수행에 대한 시선추적, 녹화, 녹음 등의 데이터를 바탕으로 수업 설계를 지원하는 AI 보조교사 기능, 학생의 수준에 맞게 콘텐츠를 재구성할 수 있는 기능, 데이터 기반 학습 관리로 교사에게 국어 학습 프로파일을 제공하는 기능이 필요함을 시사하였다. 공통 차원에서는 학생의 언어 사용에 대한 정보가 잘 드러나는 대시보드 개발 및 학습자의 국어 학습에 대한 정보가 효과적으로 교환되는 소통 체계가 필요함을 시사하였다.

Objectives This study aims to analyze AI digital textbooks for national language education in the United States and draw implications for the development of AI digital textbooks for national language education. Methods AI digital textbooks for native language education in the United States were analyzed in terms of ‘student’, ‘teacher’, and ‘common’ based on the main functions of AI digital textbooks. Results The reference cases are Redbird Language art&Writing (McGraw-Hill) and IXL Language arts (IXL Learning), and the following implications were drawn as a result of the analysis. Conclusions At the student level, it was suggested that it is necessary to develop diagnostic questions that evaluate practical language performance and thinking ability, recommend optimal learning paths and contents for each individual considering cognition and emotion, provide social interactive contents, and provide AI instructors for each area of the Korean language department. At the teacher level, it was suggested that AI assistant teacher function that supports class design based on data such as eye tracking, recording, and recording of learners' language performance, the ability to reconstruct content according to the student's level, and the ability to provide teachers with a Korean language learning profile through data-based learning management are necessary. At the common level, it was suggested that there is a need for a dashboard that reveals information on learners' language use and a communication system in which information on learners' Korean learning is effectively exchanged.
