Examining the factors for an optimal language classroom environment with technology

Although various technologies are being utilized in language learning environments, it is important to create a suitable environment for learning to make the use of technology more efficient. Therefore, this study proposes learner and technology elements that significantly influence a technology-based optimal language classroom environment. For the learner elements, self-efficacy, goal orientation, positive attitude, and resilience, and for the technology elements, interactive content, authentic language use, collaboration tools, and formative assessment are suggested. To verify the causal relationships between these variables and the optimal language learning environment, data collected from English learners were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The analysis results showed that all the proposed variables of learner and technology elements significantly impact the optimal language classroom environment. Through this study, we can gain a deeper understanding of the elements necessary to create an optimal language learning environment.
