The Effects of University Students' Perceived Parenting Attitudes during Adolescence on Career Preparation Behavior : The Mediating Effect of Positive Psychological Capita

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of positive psycho logical capital on the relationship between university students' perceived parenting attitudes dur ing adolescence and career preparation behaviors. Methods: This study used a self-reported on line survey of 199 university students in the emerging adult nationwide, analyze the structural relationships among the variables. ased on this, the correlation between the main variables was verified using SPSS 26.0 and structural equation modeling. Results: First, parenting attitudes were significantly related to positive psychological capital and career preparation behaviors, and pa renting attitudes and positive psychological capital were positively related and significantly re lated to career preparation behaviors. Second, the results showed a partial mediation effect of positive psychological capital on the relationship between parenting attitudes and university stu dents' career preparation behaviors. Conclusions: Therefore, this study provided suggestions for further research along with implications for effective career education.
