Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop a paradigmatic model for preventing elder abuse in elderly care facilities and protecting the human rights of the elderly. In order to ach ieve this purpose, the impact of awareness of human rights responsibilities, care skills, and the lack of professionalism of facility operators and workers on elder abuse was analyzed, and how the improvement of human rights sensitivity and human rights advocacy activities contribute to the protection of human rights for the elderly was explored. Methods: Five judgments were se lected and analyzed in this study. After reviewing the judgments, they were conceptualized into semantic units by open coding, and axial coding was used to structure the key phenomenon, causal conditions, interaction strategies, results, and contextual conditions. Results: Lack of awareness of human rights responsibilities among facility operators and workers has been shown to contribute to behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD) in elderly people with dementia and to a culture of inhumane care, which in turn increases the risk of elder abuse. This study concluded that human rights education and job training play an important role in preventing elder abuse, and that enhancing human rights sensitivity and human rights advo cacy activities contribute to the protection of elder rights and prevention of abuse. Conclusions: This study provides academic evidence of the importance of elder abuse pre vention and human rights education, and suggests practical measures to strengthen human rights protection in elderly care facilities
