Objective: This study investigates the mediating role of emotional self-disclosure in the rela tionship between mentalization and posttraumatic growth (PTG). Methods: The sample com prised 447 university students (157 males, 290 females; M = 22.32, SE = 1.76), who completed self-report questionnaires assessing childhood trauma, posttraumatic growth, mentalization, and emotional self-disclosure. The mediating effects were analyzed using Process Macro Model 4. Results: Emotional self-disclosure partially mediated the relationship between mentalization and PTG. Additionally, emotional self-disclosure partially mediated the relationships between each subfactor of mentalization (self-mentalization, mentalization of others, and mentalization motivation) and PTG. Conclusions: The findings demonstrate that mentalization fosters emo tional self-disclosure, which in turn mediates the relationship between mentalization and post traumatic growth. These results underscore the importance of mentalization and emotional self disclosure in facilitating PTG. The development of interventions aimed at enhancing both con structs is crucial for promoting psychological recovery and PTG in university students with trau matic experiences
