Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out the awareness of current and prospective early childhood teachers regarding health promotion behaviors. Methods: The subjects were 173 current early childhood teachers and 121 prospective early childhood teachers, and differences in health promotion behaviors by experience, age, and institution type were analyzed. Results: First, there was a statistically significant difference in eating habits and exercise between current and pre-service early childhood teachers’ recognition of health promotion behaviors. Second, age-specific differences in perceptions of health-promoting behavior demonstrated a statisti cally significant difference only in exercise. Third, current early childhood teachers’ awareness of health promotion behavior by institutions showed a statistically significant difference in exercise. Conclusions: The health awareness and health promotion behaviors of early child hood teachers who are or will be in charge of children's health are closely connected to the actual practice of early childhood health education. The health of early childhood teachers is an important factor in improving the health of young children and the quality of education, and continuous attention and support is needed in the future.
