대구 국제 뮤지컬 페스티벌(DIMF)의 뮤지컬 <더 템페스트>에 내재된 글로컬 문화의 전망

The prospects of glocal culture inherent in The Tempest of DIMF

본 연구는 제17회 대구국제뮤지컬페스티벌(이하 DIMF)에서 창작지원작품으로 선정된 셰익스피어의 뮤지컬 <더 템페스트>(The Tempest)에 내재된 글로컬문화의 전망을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연출자들의 의도 목적에 따라 셰익스피어의 <더 템페스트>가 내용적으로 각색이 될 뿐 아니라 음악적으로도 상당한 변주가 있었다. 고로 연출의 의도 방향을 제시하고 해석하는 것이 글로컬문화 해석에 중요하다고 본다. 둘째, 연출자들의 각색과 변주의 방향에 따라 상황과 각 인물들의 코믹한 특성을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 음악의 변주 특성이 극 인물이나 극 내용에 어디까지 반영되고 글로컬 한 점은 무엇인가도 음악자료와 함께 살펴보고자 한다. 필자는 뮤지컬 <더 템페스트>가 지닌 글로컬 상호문화의 강점이 지방소멸의 원인이 될 지역문화인재 유출이나 경제침체와 같은 문제를 해결하는 지역문화자산이 될 뿐 아니라 문화교류 차원의 뮤지컬 한류에도 이바지하는 공헌이 클 것으로 기대해 본다.

This study analyzes the prospects of glocal culture inherent in Shakespeare's musical The Tempest, which was selected as a creative support work at the 17th Daegu International Musical Festival(DIMF). For this analysis, this essay is intended to reveal each character's situation and comical characteristics according to the directors' adaptation and direction of variation. In addition, this essay will examine how far the variation characteristics of music are reflected, and glocal ones in the characters or contents of the musical along with music materials. Investigating the various aspects that can be put forward as glocal cultural characteristics included in DIMF's musical The Tempest, the essay will also evaluate the contribution it can contribute to developing local culture, expanding new horizons in studying The Tempest.
