This study examined farmers’ perceptions of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction projects and GHG reduction technologies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing farmers’ adoption intention and expansion of GHG reduction technology and to present implications as well. To achieve the objective of the study, a survey was conducted on ricegrowing farmers and facility farms. The probit and the multinomial logistic model were used for empirical analysis. The more rice-growing farmers are aware of GHG emissions from the agricultural sector, the more likely they tend to adopt GHG reduction technologies. Therefore, education and promotion are needed for rice-growing farmers to recognize GHG emissions in the agricultural sector. An economic support program, such as an initial installation cost aid, should be in place for young farmers to adopt GHG reduction technology. In addition, the central and local governments should lead the education and promotion of GHG reduction technologies for older farmers. New GHG reduction technologies must be developed for rice farmers. Finally, it is essential for facility farms to receive aid for initial installation costs.
