The purpose of this study was to measure changes in production efficiency of Korean autumn cabbage by region using the DEA Window method. In addition, the efficiency distribution for efficient and inefficient farmers in the region was analyzed using the DEA model. As a result of the technical efficiency analysis, the overall average of windows in Gyeonggi and Chungbuk regions was relatively high, and the overall average of Chungnam and Gyeongbuk regions was relatively low. The technical efficiency trend between 2010 and 2021 was relatively stable and maintained above a certain level in Chungbuk compared with another relatively efficient Gyeonggi region. Among Chungnam and Gyeongbuk areas, where efficiency is relatively low, Chungnam has recently improved efficiency, but Gyeongbuk has been analyzed to be significantly lowered. As a result of analyzing the cause of inefficiency in the Gyeongbuk region through scale efficiency, it was found that the cause of inefficiency in Window 1 was in terms of production scale, and in the case of Window 7, it was in terms of technology. Through this study, Chungbuk is considered a benchmarking area due to its relatively high efficiency compared to other regions, and Gyeongbuk is relatively low in efficiency, so it seems necessary to prepare countermeasures to minimize input costs and maximize output.
