Effects of Livestock Manure Management Support Program on Consumer Surplus and Producer Income: Focus on Hanwoo Farms

This study analyzes how the Livestock Manure Management Support Program has influenced the cost structure of livestock production. It is assessed that the impact of this influence on livestock supply and consequent prices, as well as empirically evaluated the extent to which it has contributed to the increase in consumer surplus in the livestock product market. When the increase in producer income and consumer surplus is summed, the effectiveness of the program is found to be greater than the budget cost in most scenarios for both 2021 and 2022. Based on the producer price of Hanwoo, it is analyzed that the income of Hanwoo producers increased by a minimum of 31.546 billion won to a maximum of 56.782 billion won in 2022, and consumer surplus is analyzed to have increased by a minimum of 9.144 billion won to a maximum of 16.245 billion won.
