민족통일의 눈 독도를 통한 남북교류에 대한 연구

Research on inter-Korean exchanges through Dokdo, the eye of national unification

남과 북은 반만년 이상을 함께 살아온 하나의 민족으로서 분단전까지는 역사는 물론 사회 ·문화적 공통점을 공유하며 살아왔다. 봉건왕조시대를 끝내고 근대화하는 과정에서 이웃나라 일본의 침략으로 촉발된 국토분단으로 떨어져 살아온지도 어느세 78년이란 긴 세월이 흘렀다. 그 후, 6.25 한국전쟁이라는 동족상잔의 비극적 전쟁과 정전 이후 70년이란 긴 세월을 지나게 되면서 남북한 사이에는 다양한 분야에서 다층적으로 이질적인 부분이 쌓여가고 있다. 이러한 남북한 주민 사이에 다면적, 다층적 이질감들이 늘어나고 있는 현상은 훗날 통일한국 시대를 맞게 되었을 때 남북 주민 통합에 큰 장애물로 작용할 수가 있다. 영토의 통합을 넘어 사회·문화적 이질감으로 인한 마음의 분단을 극복하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 필요한 시점이다. 하지만 해방과 분단 그리고 정전이후 70년 넘게 이질적인 정치, 경제, 문화의 이질적 체제하였임에도 불구하고 지금까지도 남북 양쪽에 아직도 한목소리를 내는 것이 있으니, 바로 “독도는 우리 땅”이다. 독도가 민족통일의 눈이자 디딤돌이 될 수 있다는 희망이다. 이번 연구에서는 다양한 북한의 간행물들을 통해 북한의 독도관점을 분석해 보면서 독도가 남과 북의 공동연구와 이질감 해소 그리고 민족통일의 디딤돌이 되는 길을 제시해보고자 한다.

South and North Korea are one nation who have lived together for more than 5,000 years, sharing history as well as social and cultural commonalities before the division of two Koreas. A long 78 years have passed since the end of the feudal dynasty era and the process of modernization, with the division of the country triggered by the invasion of neighboring Japan. Since then, as 70 long years have passed since the tragic fratricidal war called the Korean War and the armistice, multi-layered different cultures are accumulating between North and South Korea in various fields. These phenomenons of increasing multi-faceted and multi-layered differences between North and South Korean residents could act as a major obstacle to the integration of North and South Korean residents when the era of unified Korea comes in the future. It is a time when various efforts are needed to go beyond territorial integration and overcome the division of the mind caused by social and cultural heterogeneity. However, despite the heterogeneous political, economic, and cultural systems for over 70 years since liberation, division, and armistice, there is one direction that both North and South Korea still agree on: “Dokdo is our land.” We hope that Dokdo can become the eye and stepping stone of national unification. On this study, we will analyze North Korea's perspective on Dokdo through various North Korean publications and suggest a way for Dokdo to become a stepping stone for joint research between South and North Korea, resolution of differences, and national unification.
