장애대학생의 컴퓨터 및 디지털 활용 역량에 대한 대학생들의 경험과 인식: 근거이론 연구

Experiences and Perceptions of College Students on Computer Utilization and Digital Competencies of Students with Disabilities: A Grounded Theory Study

연구목적: 본 연구는 장애대학생의 원활한 학업 수행을 위해 필요한 컴퓨터 및 디지털 활용에 대한 경험과 인식을 심층적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 장애대학생 및 장애대학생을 지원한 경험이 있는 또래 대학생 14명을 세 그룹으로 나누어 포커스그룹인터뷰를 진행하고 자료를 수집하였다. 자료는 개방코딩, 축코딩을 통해 근거이론 도식에 의한 패러다임 모형을 도출하였다. 연구결과: 대학생활에서 장애대학생은 컴퓨터 및 디지털 관련 활용의 어려움을 겪고 있었고, 이는 장애대학생의특별한 지원 요구 미충족에 기인하였다, 장애대학생의 고유의 필요와 요구가 이러한 현장상 영향을 주는 것으로나타났다. 연구 참여자들은 장애대학생을 위한 컴퓨터 및 디지털 역량 강화 프로그램이 설계되어 운영되기를 제안하여, 효율적 프로그램 운영을 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 컴퓨터 활용 역량과 디지털 리터러시 역량을 갖춘 장애대학생을 기대할 수 있었다. 논의 및 제언: 연구 결과를 토대로 중심현상으로 드러난 장애 대학생의 컴퓨터 및 디지털 활용의 어려움과 이들의 컴퓨터 및 디지털 역량 강화 방안에 대해 논의하고 제언하였다.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the perspectives and experiences of college students with disabilities regarding their needs for digital and computer competencies to enhance academic performance. Method: Focus group interviews were conducted with three groups, consisting of 14 college students with disabilities and their peers who had experience supporting them. The data were analyzed using grounded theory methods, including open and axial coding, which led to the development of a paradigmatic model. Results: The study found that students with disabilities faced significant challenges in digital and computer competencies, primarily due to unmet special support needs and the unique demands of their disabilities. Participants recommended the design, implementation, and enhancement of digital competency programs tailored specifically to the needs of students with disabilities. Discussion & Suggestions: Based on the research findings, this study discusses and proposes solutions to the challenges faced by students with disabilities in utilizing computers and digital technologies, as well as strategies for enhancing their computer and digital competencies.
