A study on ter Yueksu(countercurrent) of Hyeonggi Fengshui

형기풍수에서 결지의 眞假를 가리는 것은 開面의 與否이다. 개면의 조건은 분렴(分斂)·앙복(仰覆)·향배(向背)·합할(合割)이다. 分은 현무에서 갈라져 내려오는 세력을 말한다. 팔 다리처럼 龍이 좌우로 갈라져야 세력이 생긴다. 용이 갈라지지 않으면 용은 달려나가는 세력이 없어서 뭉쳤다고 하고 斂이라고 한다. 앙복은 용이 내려오면서 起伏을 만드는데 이 기복이 용의 호흡이다. 이 기복이 없으면 호흡이 없으므로 죽은 용이고 혈은 없다. 향배는 靑虎가 穴을 향해 有情해야 한다. 합할은 물이 갈라지고 혈 앞에서 합쳐져야 하는 것을 나타낸다. 모든 세력이 혈을 향해서 모여줘야 물이 모인다. 이 모인 물이 쉽게 빠져나가지 않게 하려면 물의 형태가 委蛇曲折이 있어야 하고 逆水이어야 한다. 역수는 혈 앞에 모인 물이 최대한으로 느리게 빠져 나가도록 하는 기능을 한다. 물은 富와 직결된 것이기 때문이다. 풍수에서 역수를 가장 중요시 여기는 것은 살아있는 물고기는 물을 거슬러 오르지만 죽은 물고기는 순수를 따라 떠내려가는 이치이다. 그래서 역수는 氣가 강함과 총명, 도전, 부를 상징하므로 개면의 조건을 갖춘 곳에서 최종적으로 역수의 여부를 살피는 것이다.

In Hyeonggi Fengshui, it is whether or not the Gaimyen to determine the true value of the land. The conditions for Gaimyen are Bunnyum, Angbok, Hyangbae, and Haphal. Bun refers to a force that splits from Hyeonmu. Like arms and legs, the Yong has to split from side to side to gain power. If the Yong does not split, the Yong is said to have clumped together because there is no running force, and it is called Ryeom. Angbok creates ups and downs as the Yong descends, and this ups and downs are the breath of the Yong. Without these ups and downs, there is no breathing, so it is a dead Yong and there is no Hyul. The Hyangbae must be welled by the Chung-Ho toward the Hyul. The Haphal indicates that the water has to split and merge in front of the Hyul. Water gathers only when all forces gather toward the Hyul. In order to prevent this collected water from escaping easily, the shape of the water must be twisted and Yueksu(countercurrent). The Yueksu functions to allow the water collected in front of the Hyul to escape as slowly as possible. This is because water is directly related to wealth. The most important thing in Feng shui is the reason that live fish climb against the water and only dead fish float along Sunsu. Therefore, the Yueksu symbolizes strength, intelligence, challenge, and wealth, so it is to finally look at whether it is a Yueksu in a place with Gaimyen conditions.
