The Study of the Relationship Between Kenji Miyazawa's The Restaurant of Many Orders and Metadiscourse

Through in-depth analysis of guiding meta-discourse, interactive meta-discourse and evaluative meta-discourse, this paper reveals the role of meta-discourse in constructing story structure, promoting plot development, expressing author's critical and ironic intention, and exploring human nature. This paper holds that The Restaurant with Many Demands is not only a fairy tale full of imagination, but also a carrier of profound reflection on the real society, in which the application of metapdiscourses plays a crucial role.
