영유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 온라인(on-line) 양육참여 경험의 의미와 개선요구

The Meaning and the Demand of On-line Involvement in Parenting for Fathers Raising Young children

목적 본 연구에서는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지에게 온라인 양육참여가 갖는 의미와 이에 대한 개선요구가 어떠한지 탐색하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 영유아기 자녀를 둔 8명의 아버지들과 심층면담(depth-interview)을 중심으로 하는 질적연구를 실시함으로써 온라인 양육참여에 대한 아버지들의 실제 경험을 구체적으로 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 아버지의 온라인 양육참여는 온-오프라인 혼합놀이를 통해 자녀와 더 가까워지고, 온라인 기반의 맞춤 정보 습득을 통해 개별화 교육을 하며, 자녀양육 관련 소통을 더 활성화하고, 자녀 양육의 목표 달성 및 문제 해결을 위한 효율적 창구로서의 의미가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 아버지들은 온라인 양육참여의 개선을 위해 온라인 양육 및 교육 정보에 대한 공신력 있는 기준 마련, 가족친화적인 온라인 컨텐츠 및 플랫폼 개발 및 보급, 콘텐츠 선별을 위한 부모교육 지원, 국가 및 지역 차원의 하드웨어적 지원을 요구하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 영유아 아버지 온라인 양육참여의 주요 맥락은 온-오프라인 연계를 통해 아버지와 자녀 간 놀이가 더 확장되고 이 과정에서 서로가 더 친밀한 관계를 형성하는 사회정서적 의미를 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 또한 아버지들의 온라인 기반 양육참여는 자녀의 개인특성에 맞춤화된 정보 습득을 가능하게 하여 영유아 개별화교육이 이루어지게 하였으며, 배우자 및 가족과 자녀양육에 대한 소통을 보다 활성화시키는 것으로 나타났다.

Objectives This study aimed to explore the meaning and the demand of online involvement in parenting for fathers raising young children. Methods To this end, a qualitative study centered on depth-interview with 8 fathers raising young children was conducted to specifically analyze the actual experiences of fathers in online involvement in parenting. Results First, it was analyzed that fathers' on-line involvement in parenting is meaningful as an effective channel for getting closer to their children through online and offline mixed play, personalized education through online-based customized information acquisition, further activating child-rearing-related communication, and achieving child-rearing goals and solving problems. Second, it was found that fathers required reliable standards for online parenting and educational information, family-friendly online content and platform development and dissemination, parental education support for content selection, and hardware support at the national and regional level to improve on-line involvement in parenting. Conclusions The main context of online involvement in parenting for fathers raising young children was the expansion of play between fathers and children through online and offline connection, and in this process, it was found that social and emotional meaning was formed to form a closer relationship with each other. In addition, it was found that fathers' online-based involvement in parenting enabled information tailored to their children's personal characteristics, enabling individualized education for children, and further activating communication with spouses and families and children.
