The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Employee Voice Behavior: The Interaction Effect of Transformational Leadership and Psychological Empowerment

Purpose - The paper’s purpose is to study the influence mechanism between Transformational Leadership and Voice Behavior through psychological empowerment’s moderation effect. Design/Methodology/Approach - Taking an IT industry enterprise as the sample, we study the influence mechanism of transformational leadership on voice behavior through the mediation effect of psychological empowerment by the literature survey, questionnaire analysis, and statistical analysis methods. Findings - Research on the sample company showed that Transformational Leadership has a 77.5% positive impact on Voice Behavior. The four factors of Transformational Leadership are Moral Modeling, Vision Incentives, Individualized Consideration, and Leadership Charisma, each of which has a significant positive impact on Voice Behavior. Moreover, psychological empowerment has a positive moderation effect. Research Implications - This study provides a significant practical reference for enterprises to improve employee Voice Behavior. The result of this study can be used in many aspects of enterprise management, and not only in human resource management. Employee Voice Behavior is the eye and mind of an enterprise; it could help organizations build own enterprise culture, improve organizational business and market structure, management, and so on. The psychological empowerment is one of the most important factors to which the managers should pay more attention.
