A Study on Public Performance of Customs Information System

Purpose - The Customs Information System is a nationally important electronic customs clearance system that handles import and export customs clearance, and it places the health and safety of the people as the top priority. It is important to evaluate and improve this in terms of convenience and cost benefits. Therefore, in order to provide high-quality services, it must continuously pursue system improvement. We intend to identify areas for improvement and make policy suggestions through public service satisfaction analysis. Design/Methodology/Approach - The independent variables were composed of system configuration characteristics, information resource configuration characteristics, and civil service provision characteristics. The mediating variable was composed of user satisfaction, and the dependent variable was composed of corporate performance (financial performance and non-financial performance). The causal relationship between variables was determined through a survey. Findings - The research results showed that system configuration characteristics, information resource configuration characteristics, and civil service provision characteristics were closely related to user satisfaction, and the main variable relationships were also analyzed to have a significant positive correlation overall. Research Implications - Policy support is needed to improve user satisfaction through the continuous service improvement of the customs information system, and to have a positive impact on corporate performance.
