Exploring Taekwondo Students' Perception and Image of Taekwondo Using Photo-Voice Methodology

This study confirmed that Taekwondo has an important meaning for students in various dimensions beyond simple sports by examining the image of Taekwondo recognized by Taekwondo students using PhotoVoice. As a result of the study, Taekwondo students were experiencing not only physical health but also mental growth, self-expression, and multicultural understanding through Taekwondo. First, it was confirmed that participation in Taekwondo plays an important role in raising awareness of cultural diversity and promoting multicultural understanding and personal growth. Second, participation in Taekwondo satisfies individual psychological needs, thereby increasing self-determination, and improving intrinsic motivation. Third, participation in Taekwondo contributed to improving the physical health and mental strength of major students. The study participants were improving their physical strength and health through Taekwondo, and experiencing stress relief and psychological stability.
