An Analysis of Changes in Social Perception and Development Strategies of Taekwondo Breaking Competitions Using Text Mining

The purpose of this study is to identify public perceptions of taekwondo destruction competitions through text mining. The data collection period was set from two years before to two years after when the Korean Taekwondo Association approved taekwondo destruction competitions as an official sport in April 2022. Big data was collected using the keyword ‘taekwondo grappling competition’ through Naver and the following channels, and frequency analysis, TF-IDF, centrality analysis, semantic network analysis, and CONCOR analysis were conducted using Textom and Ucinet 6.0. Before the official approval of the breaking competition, breaking competition components, Demo training with a focus on breaking, the 2022 Goyang World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, and changes in breaking competitions due to COVID-19. After official approval, university entrance, breaking competition operation elements, World Taekwondo Hanmadang, and factors affecting breaking competition changes.
