Purpose : This study is a qualitative investigation utilizing focus group interviews to explore the experiences of fourth-year nursing students at C University in S City, J Province, regarding End-of-Life (EOL) Care simulation practice. The study involved 20 nursing students who encountered EOL Care simulation for the first time. Focus group interviews were conducted from July 15 to August 9, 2024, with the question, “Can you describe your experience participating in the End-of-Life Care simulation program?” Method : The participants of this study were fourth-year nursing students at C University in S City, J Province, who participated in an EOL Care simulation program. They were organized into four groups of five members each, and data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results : Five main themes and ten sub-themes were identified based on the students' experiences in the EOL Care simulation program. The main themes included: ‘Diverse Emotions Encountered in Given Situations,’ ‘Difficult Choices,’ ‘Empathy Through Role-Playing,’ ‘Emotional Complexity and Ethical Responsibility in EOL Care,’ and ‘The Need for Preparation for End-of-Life Care.’ Conclusion : This study provides a foundation for understanding and empathizing with nursing students' perspectives on EOL Care simulation practice. Moving forward, rather than merely evaluating the effectiveness of simulation practice, it is essential to design and plan simulation practice sessions that consider learners' perspectives and incorporate them into clinical settings.
