Purpose : This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of prenatal education in promoting natural childbirth through a systematic review of the literature. Methods : A search was conducted for both domestic and international studies on childbirth education for pregnant women published since 2010. From this, 20 studies that met the selection criteria were analyzed. Results : Findings indicate that participation in childbirth education is associated with increased confidence in childbirth, enhanced fetal attachment, and a more positive perception of the childbirth experience. Additional benefits observed include a higher rate of natural births, improved postpartum recovery, and support for breastfeeding. However, results were inconsistent regarding recovery from postpartum depression. Conclusion : this review seeks to lay a foundation for developing nursing interventions in delivery room settings that support increased rates of natural childbirth and aid pregnant women in labor, by synthesizing research on the outcomes of prenatal education for natural childbirth preparation.
