In 2021, an investigation of indigenous fungi in the western part of Mudeungsan National Park in Korea was conducted. All collected specimens were identified to the species level on the basis of their morphological characteristics and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region sequences. Among the specimens, a Pluteus species that was previously not recorded in Korea was discovered. Through its morphological characterization and phylogenetic analysis of the ITS sequences, we identified this species as Pluteus eos. Herein, we describe the macro-and micromorphological characteristics of the newly recorded species in detail.
