경계사유로 본 신경림의 해외기행시 연구

A Study of Overseas Travel Poetry of Shin Gyeong-rim Shown by Border Thinking

본 연구는 신경림의 해외 기행시를 통해 글로벌 자본화에 따른 반주변부의 타자성과 현지인의 주변성이 지닌 잠재력을 살펴본다. 그의 해외 기행시에는 내부의 로컬기반 문화와 외부의 글로벌 자본 문화가 이질적 경계를 형성한다. 시인은 그 경계지대에서 로컬을 이분법으로 질서지우지 않고 주변적 가치에 해당하는 현지인의 삶을 대변하는 것에 경도된다. 그는 세계화가 형성되기 이전의 로컬로 회귀하기를 바라거나 세계화에 합류한 관광객으로서 현지를 상품화하는 자신에 대해 성찰한다. 또한 신경림은 글로벌화 이전에는 담론화되지 않았고 세상에 알려지지 않았던 로컬이 관광객과 자본의 흐름으로 오히려 로컬의 가치가 부상되고 활기를 찾게 된 모습을 재현한다. 월터 미뇰로의 경계사유는 문화와 이데올로기의 경계지대에서 이루어지는 것으로서 식민주의적 차이의 시점에서 이루어지는 이중 작용의 언표이다. 해외여행을 담론화하는 시인의 언표위치는 로컬의 외부인이다. 그러나 그는 외국인 여행객으로 상징되는 글로벌 자본화에 로컬이 포섭되는 모습을 보고 우리 내면의 식민성을 발견한다. 이러한 시각은 근대성에 대한 반성적 시각을 마련한다는 점에서 미뇰로가 말하는 경계사유와 긴밀하게 연결된다. 신경림의 60년 시력에서 알 수 있듯이 그는 시대의 변화에 민감했고 그 변화의 와중에 놓인 하층민의 삶에 애정을 가졌다. 경계사유로 본 신경림의 해외기행시는 글로벌 자본화가 우리의 의식과 로컬에 미친 영향을 깨닫게 하고 반성적 시각을 보여준다는 점에서 충분한 시의성을 확보하고 있다.

This study takes a look at the potential contained in the otherness of semi-periphery and marginality of local residents following the global capitalization through the overseas travel poetry of Shin Gyeong-rim. In his overseas travel poetry, the internal local based culture and external global capital culture establish the heterogeneous border. The poet did not set the order for the local in the border territory but to represent the lives of local residents as applicable to the peripheral value. He had the insight to hope for returning back to the local before the globalization was formed or commercializing the locality as the tourist that merged into the globalization. In addition, prior to the globalization, Shin Gyeong-rim reproduced the value of local emerging and regained the vitalization with the flow of tourists and capital for the local that did not have the discourse and unknown to the world. The border thinking of Walter Mignolo is made up in the boarder territory of the culture and ideology that is the utterance of duel reaction formed at the time of colonial difference. The utterance location of the poet that has the overseas travel to be discoursed is the outsider of the local. However, he saw that the local was embraced to the global capitalization that is symbolized as a foreign traveler and discovered the colonial features from the internal aspect of us. Such a view is closely connected to the border thinking that mentioned by Mignolo in the point that the reflective insight is prepared on the subject. As shown from the poetry history of 60 years for Shin Gyeong-rim, he was sensitive to the change of time and had the affection toward the lives of low class people that were under the whirlwind of changes. The overseas travel poetry of Shin Gyeong-rim shown by border thinking secures sufficient timeliness in the point that it enlightens people to realize the influence of the global capitalization on our consciousness and local and display the reflective insight.
