중국 민족민간무용 멜대춤(扁擔舞)의 전승 현황 연구 : 광서성(廣西省) 가방(加方)중학교를 중심으로

A Study on the Transmission of the Biandan Dance, an Ethnic Folk Dance from China : Focusing on Jiafang Middle School in Guangxi Province

중국 광서좡족(壯族)의 멜대춤은 오락, 예술, 교육, 체육 등의 종합적인 성격을 가지고 있는 민족민간무용이다. 중국의 민족민간무용은 주로 대학의 예술대학에서 전승하고 있으나, 멜대춤은 초, 중, 고등학교에서 다양한 형태로 전승되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 광서성의 가방중학교에서 전승되고 있는 멜대춤의 전승 현황을 분석하여, 중국 타지역의 민족민간무용 전승 및 발전에 기반을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 가방중학교의 멜대춤 전승 현황을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국지방 정부의 정책 및 자금 지원으로 인해 더욱 원활한 전승 활동을 진행할 수 있다. 둘째, 멜대춤 수업은 1학년을 대상으로 매주 진행하고, 매 학기 ‘멜대춤 창작 경연 대회’를 개최하고 있다. 셋째, 멜대춤 수업 외 특별 활동시간(체조시간)을 마련하여 학생들이 멜대춤과 도구를 재구성하는 창작활동을 펼치고 있다. 넷째, 광서성의 민속문화를 교내 게시판에 지속적으로 홍보하고 민속문화 전시실을 건립하여 학생들에게 중국의 전통문화를 알리고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 통해 중국의 민족민간무용이 대중적, 교육적, 체육적 영역에서 어떻게 확대되고 활용될 수 있는지를 탐구하며, 이를 통해 전승과 발전의 토대가 되기를 기대한다.

The Biandan dance of the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi, China, is a folk dance with a complex identity, blending entertainment, artistry, education, and physical exercise. While most Chinese ethnic folk dances are primarily preserved through university arts programs, the Biandan dance is taught in various forms to students across elementary, middle, and high schools. This study aims to analyze how the Biandan dance is taught to students at Jiafang Middle School in Guangxi, with the goal of providing a foundation for the development of programs to promote and transmit various other ethnic folk dances in other regions of China. The results of the analysis on the teaching of the Biandan dance at Jiafang Middle School are as follows. First, the teaching of the dance has been facilitated through policies and financial support provided by the local Chinese government. Second, Biandan dance classes are held weekly for first-year students, and a “Biandan Dance Choreography Competition” is organized every semester. Third, in addition to regular Biandan dance classes, special activity hours (exercise times) are allocated for creative activities, such as dance choreography and prop creation. Fourth, the school continuously promotes the folk culture of Guangxi on its bulletin boards and has established a folk culture exhibition room to introduce students to this aspect of traditional Chinese culture. This study is expected to expand public awareness of Chinese ethnic folk dances and encourage further educational and athletic activity related to them, while at the same time prompting a reevaluation of their cultural value to enhance transmission and development.
