Development of an Adolescent Social Emotional Competency Test

본 연구의 목적은 국내 청소년 사회정서역량을 측정하기 위해 문항을 개발하고 이를 타당화하는 것이다. 국내외 선행연구 분석 및 전문가 내용타당도를 통해 개인영역(자기인식과 자기관리), 사회영역(사회인식과 관계관리), 상황영역(책임감 있는 의사결정과 지적·창의적인 문제해결)으로 구성된 청소년 사회정서역량 63개 초기문항을 선정하였다. 연구방법으로 수도권 지역 중등학생 총 386명을 대상으로 초기 문항에 대한 설문을 실시하고 SPSS 25, AMOS 25 프로그램으로 탐색적, 확인적 요인분석을 수행하여 구인타당도를 검증하였다. 최종 35문항에 대한 내적일관성과 개념 신뢰도(C.R.), 평균분산추출(AVE), 타당도(수렴 및 판별, 공인, 교차)를 확인하여 신뢰도와 타당성을 검증하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 개발된 청소년 사회정서역량 검사는 국내외 연구가 가장 많은 CASEL이 정의하는 구성요인을 포함하고 있으며 국내 청소년 특성을 반영한 자기보고식 검사로서 청소년 사회정서역량을 다양하게 비교·분석하는데 필요한 준거로 사용될 수 있어 중요한 의미를 가진다.

The objective of this study is to develop and validate a questionnaire for the measurement of social-emotional competence in Korean adolescents. A total of 63 initial questions on adolescent social-emotional competence were selected based on an analysis of domestic and foreign prior studies and expert content validity. These questions were grouped into three domains: individual(self-awareness and self-management), social(social awareness and relationship management), and situational(responsible decision-making, intellectual and creative problem solving). As a research method, a total of 386 secondary school students in the metropolitan area were surveyed about the initial questions. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted using the SPSS 25 and AMOS 25 programs to verify the suitability of the questions for the purposes of the study. The final 35 items were verified for reliability and validity through internal consistency(Cronbach's α), construct reliability(C.R.), average variance extracted(AVE), and validity(convergent and discriminant, concurrent, and cross). Therefore, the adolescent social-emotional competence test developed through this study is important because it contains the components defined by CASEL, which has the most domestic and foreign studies, and is a self-report test that reflects the characteristics of Korean adolescents, and can be used as a standard for various comparisons and analyses of adolescent social-emotional competence.
