Challenges and Opportunities for International Communication of Chinese Language from the Perspective of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

Chinese language teaching in Africa originated in the 1950s, marking a relatively late start. The establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has brought new opportunities for the dissemination of Chinese language in Africa, significantly promoting its spread in the region through political collaboration, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges. However, the current dissemination of Chinese language in Africa still faces a series of challenges, including unclear policy guidance, inadequate funding, communication barriers due to cultural differences, and an imperfect teaching system. To further promote the dissemination of Chinese language in Africa, based on the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes the following strategic recommendations: Strengthen policy support and enhance the funding guarantee system; deeply integrate Chinese and African cultures to enhance cultural identity; and comprehensively optimize the Chinese language teaching system in Africa.

非洲中文教学源于上世纪五十年代，起步相对较晚。中非合作论坛的成立为非洲中文传播带来新机遇，从政治协作、经贸合作及文化交流三个方面，对中文在非洲地区的传播起到了显著的推动作用。然而，当前非洲中文传播仍面临一系列挑战，包括政策导向不明、资金投入不足、文化差异形成的传播壁垒以及教学体系的不完善。为进一步推动非洲中文传播，本文基于上述挑战，提出以下策略建议：加大政策扶持力度并强化资金保障体系；深度融合中非文化，提升文化认同感；全面优化非洲中文教学体系。
