사회연결망 분석을 이용한 정체성 리더십 연구의 지식구조 분석

Analysis of the Knowledge Structure of Identity Leadership Research Using Social Network Analysis

조직의 경쟁력 확보와 지속적인 성장을 위해서는 리더의 역할이 중요하다. 이에 따라 새로운 리더십 스타일 이 요구되고 있으며 그 중, 정체성 리더십에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 정체성 리더십 연구동향을 파악하기 위하여 정체성 리더십 연구의 주요 주제어 간의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 정체성 리더십의 측정문항 이 개발된 2014년 이후 Scopus에 게재된 정체성 리더십 논문 64편을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 정체성 리더십의 개념 및 특징을 알아보고 연구동향을 파악하기 위하여 연도별, 학술지별, 연구방법 및 연구의 대상별로 분류하 였다. 또한 주제어의 빈도를 파악하고 사회연결망 분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석 결과, 첫째, 2014년 정체성 리더십의 측정문항이 개발된 이후 2018년부터 주목받기 시작하여 2022년에 가장 많은 연구가 이루어졌다. 둘째, 학술지별로는 체육학, 심리학 등에서 정체성 리더십 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 연구방법별로 양적 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌으며 이론적 연구 및 질적 연구도 함께 이루어지고 있음을 확인하였다. 넷째, 연구대상별로는 직장인 및 운동선수를 대상으로 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있음을 확인하 였다. 마지막으로 사회연결망 분석을 통해 ‘Social Identity’, ‘Leadership’, ‘Team Identification’, ‘Health’, ‘Peer Leadership’ 등이 중심성이 높게 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과는 정체성 리더십 및 리더십 연구에 중요한 이론적, 실무적 함의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

In the pursuit of organizational competitiveness and sustainable growth, the role of leadership is important. Leaders not only strive to enhance organizational capabilities but also foster a sense of community among members. Consequently, interest on the identity leadership has been increased by business scholars and managers. In this vein, this study aimed to understand the trends in identity leadership research. Moreover, we analyzed the relationship among research keywords. More specifically, this study analyzed 64 identity lead- ership articles published in Scopus since the development of identity leadership scale in 2014. We discussed the definition and characteristics of identity leadership. Next, we conducted the content analysis and social network analysis to review previous research on identity leadership systematically. Our findings of the analysis are as follows. First, from 2018 onwards, there has been a surge in research since the conceptualization and identity leadership scale development in 2014, peaking in 2022. Second, research on identity leadership show that it is most actively conducted in sports science and psychology. Third, quantitative research was conducted the most, and theoretical and qualitative research was very insufficient. Fourth, a prevalent focus was on em- ployees and athletes as research subjects. Fifth, based on our social network analysis result, we confirmed that 'Social Identity', 'Leadership', 'Team Identification', 'Health', and 'Peer Leadership' have high centrality. These findings provided the useful research ideas and insight for future research on identity leadership and leadership study.
