대학생의 사회부과 완벽주의가 사회불안에 미치는 영향: 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 자기냉담의 이중매개효과

The Effect of Socially Prescribed Perfectionism on Social Anxiety: Focusing on the Mediation Effects of Intolerence of Uncertainty and Self-Coldness

목적 본 연구는 대학생의 사회부과 완벽주의가 사회불안에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 자기냉담의 이중매개효과를 확인하였다. 방법 이를 위해 서울 소재 대학생 422명을 대상으로 사회부과 완벽주의, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족, 자기냉담, 사회불안을 측정하는 설문 조사를 실시하고 자료를 수집한 후, SPSS v.26과 MPLUS 8.0 프로그램을 사용해 변인 간 관계를 분석하고 이중매개효과를 검증하였다. 결과 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회부과 완벽주의와 사회불안, 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족, 자기냉담은 모두 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 사회부과 완벽주의와 사회불안의 관계에서 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 셋째, 사회부과 완벽주의와 사회불안의 관계에서 자기냉담의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 넷째, 사회부과 완벽주의와 사회불안의 관계에서 불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 자기냉담이 이중매개하였다. 결론 사회부과 완벽주의가 높을수록 불확실성에 대한 인내력이 낮아지고, 자기냉담 또한 높아져 사회불안을 경험하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of intolerance of uncertainty and self-coldness in the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. Methods Participants from the 4-year-colleges in Seoul (N=422) completed an online survey that measured levels of socially prescribed perfectionism, intolerance of uncertainty, self-coldness, and social anxiety. Statistics analysis, correlations, and bootstrapping analysis were conducted by means of SPSS 26.0 and Mplus 8.0 programs to examine the multiple mediating effects. Results First, there are positive correlations among socially prescribed perfectionism, social anxiety, intolerance of uncertainty and self-coldness. Second, intolerance of uncertainty and self-coldness mediated the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. Third, in the pathway in which socially prescribed perfectionism affects social anxiety, the sequential dual mediation pathway of intolerance of uncertainty and self-coldness was confirmed. Conclusions This results provide evidence to suggest that socially prescribed perfectionism has an impact on social anxiety through its association with intolerance of uncertainty and self-coldness. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
