단어의 품사적 특성은 문장성분의 기능과 밀접하게 관련되어 있다. 그러나 <학교문법>을 익히는 학습자들은 품사와 문장성분의 상관관계를 이해하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 학습자 중에는 품사와 문장성분의 차이를 이해하지 못할 뿐만 아니라, 품사의 명칭과 문장성분의 명칭을 혼동하는 경우도 있다. 이러한 혼동 현상은 현행의 ‘국어과 교육과정’과 문법 교과서에 품사와 문장성분을 연계하는 교육 내용이 반영되지 못하였기 때문에 발생한 것으로 보인다. <학교문법>의 교육 현장에서 발생하는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여, 이 글에서는 품사의 교육 내용과 문장성분의 교육 내용을 연계하는 방안을 마련하고자 한다. 이 글에서는 첫째로 품사 분류의 기준과 문장성분에 관련된 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 이를 통하여 품사는 기능·형태·의미를 기준으로 분류한 단어의 갈래이며, 문장성분은 특정한 단어가 문장 속에서 다른 단어에 작용하는 기능임을 확인하였다. 둘째로 현행의 ‘국어과 교육과정’과 『언어와 매체』의 교과서에 선정된 교육 내용을 검토하여, 품사와 문장성분의 교육 내용에 나타나는 문제점을 파악하였다. 셋째, <학교문법>의 교수-학습 활동에서 품사와 문장성분의 교육을 연계하여 학습 효과를 높일 수 있는 교육 내용을 구안하였다.
In Korean, the grammatical characteristics of words are closely related to the functions of sentence components. However, elementary, middle, and high school students who study school grammar often do not understand the correlation between parts of speech and sentence components. Learners not only fail to understand the difference between parts of speech and sentence components, but also confuse the names of parts of speech with the names of sentence components. This confusion seems to arise because the ‘Korean Language Curriculum’ does not reflect educational content that links parts of speech and sentence components. In this article, we aim to develop a method to link the educational content of parts of speech and sentence components in school grammar. To this end, first, we review previous studies related to the criteria for classifying parts of speech and sentence components, confirming that parts of speech are categories of words and sentence components are the functions that words perform in relation to other words within a sentence. Second, we review the educational content set in the ‘Korean Language Curriculum’ and the textbook 『Language and Media』(2019). Through this review process, we seek ways to link the education of parts of speech and sentence components in school grammar.
