This study provides a systematic analysis of the cross-border social issues in the China-Myanmar border region from the perspective of borderland social governance. The research reveals that due to the region's unique geographic location, diverse ethnic composition, and underdeveloped economy, it faces a range of cross-border issues, including illegal cross-border activities, border security risks, social order management, and public health and epidemic prevention. The emergence of these issues is the result of a complex interplay of political, economic, socio-cultural, and environmental factors, making them multifaceted and diverse. In response to these challenges, the study proposes a series of governance strategies, such as improving legal frameworks, strengthening law enforcement cooperation mechanisms, optimizing social governance models, and enhancing the well-being of local communities. The aim of these strategies is to establish an efficient border governance system that promotes regional social stability and sustainable economic development. The study concludes that with the improvement of policies and regulations, the deepening of cross-cultural exchanges, and the strengthening of transnational law enforcement cooperation, borderland social governance will effectively address the increasingly prominent cross-border social issues and lay a solid foundation for the long-term stability and development of the border regions.
