This study reviews the significant role and safety of probiotic foods in children’s nutrition and growth. By analyzing the characteristics of children’s growth and development as well as their nutritional needs, it explores the multifaceted impacts of probiotics on children’s health. Studies have shown that probiotics can effectively promote digestion and absorption, enhance immunity, and prevent and treat intestinal diseases in children. Additionally, the article provides a detailed introduction to the definition, classification, and functional mechanisms of probiotics, emphasizing their value in food applications. Addressing the safety and regulatory issues of probiotic foods, this study comprehensively reviews relevant policies and standards both domestically and internationally, and proposes future research directions and application prospects. Ultimately, the article concludes that the rational use of probiotic foods can significantly improve children’s health levels and is vital for advancing related product development.
