코로나-19 전후 대중교통 통행량으로 살펴본 서울시 중심성 변화와 영향요인 분석

The Analysis of Centrality Change in Seoul and Its Determinants Using Public Transportation Traffic Volume Before and After COVID-19

본 연구는 코로나-19 전후, 대중교통 통행량으로 살펴본 서울시 중심성 변화와 영향요인을 분 석하였으며 추후 코로나-19와 같은 전 세계적인 전염병에 대비하여 도시 공간에 대한 정책 방향 및 근거를 제시하는데에 목적이 있다. 분석을 위해 서울시 행정동별 대중교통 통행량을 기준으로 한 고 유벡터 중심성 지수를 산출하여 지역 간 상호작용이 고려된 중심성 분석을 수행하였으며, 중심성 변 화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 공간회귀분석을 실시했다. 분석 결과, 서울의 세 주요 업 무 지구(CBD, GBD, YBD)는 코로나-19로 인해 통행량이 감소하여 상대적인 중심성은 감소하였지만 이후 기존 중심지 기능을 회복하면서 중심 업무 지구로서 역할을 유지했음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 고용 밀도와 상업지역 비율이 높고 토지이용이 혼합된 지역은 중심성이 유지되거나 증가한 반면, 대학가와 단일 기능 지역은 중심성이 감소했다. 이러한 결과는 지역 간의 기능 다양화의 중요성을 부각시키며 대중교통 인프라의 지속적인 강화와 단일 기능 중심지의 취약성을 완화시킬 수 있는 도시 공간 조성 에 대한 정책적 함의를 가진다.

This study investigated changes in urban centrality and their influencing factors in Seoul by analyzing public transportation patterns before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The research aimed to provide policy directions and empirical evidence for urban spatial planning in preparation for future events. For the analysis, centrality was measured using the eigenvector centrality index based on public transportation traffic data, considering the interactions between administrative districts of Seoul. Spatial regression analysis was then conducted to identify factors influencing centrality changes. The results revealed that while Seoul's three major business districts (CBD, GBD, YBD) maintained their roles as central business districts, their relative importance showed different patterns. Areas with high employment density and mixed land use maintained or increased their centrality, while university districts and single-function areas experienced decreased centrality. The study also found that areas with well-established public transportation infrastructure showed better resilience in maintaining their centrality during the pandemic. These findings provide valuable insights for developing urban policies and spatial planning strategies.
