A Study on Ways to Revitalize Interdisciplinary Convergence Research in Domestic Business Schools

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to conduct literature review and case studies to analyze domestic and international interdisciplinary convergence research trends. Next, in order to find ways to revitalize interdisciplinary convergence research in business schools, we will conduct interviews with experts and suggest ways to revitalize interdisciplinary convergence research centered on business schools. Design/methodology/approach - This study conducted an expert consensus Delphi technique targeting 10 experts, including interdisciplinary convergence research experts, convergence technology human resources training experts, and education experts from educational institutions, policy institutions, and research institutes. Findings - Various detailed plans and action tasks were presented to revitalize interdisciplinary convergence research centered on business schools. Specifically, (1) establishing and operating an interdisciplinary research center that can collaborate with various academic fields within the business school, (2) strengthening the interdisciplinary research support program to encourage interdisciplinary research in the business school at the school level, (3) There is a need to promote practice-oriented interdisciplinary joint convergence research projects through industry-academia cooperation with companies; (4) establish convergence curricula and introduce joint degree programs between the business school and other academic units; (5) promote cooperation between the business school and researchers in other fields; Measures to promote inter-academic cooperation by operating a networking program were presented. Research implications or Originality - The implications of this study are that in a situation where there is no interdisciplinary convergence research in domestic business schools, it contributed to theoretical development by suggesting a plan to revitalize interdisciplinary convergence research centered on business schools through overseas convergence literature research and case analysis. In addition, qualitative research methods, such as expert interview methodology targeting interdisciplinary convergence research experts and education experts, were also conducted in parallel.
