Global Robot Industry Trends and Implications: Focusing on Cases of Humanoid Robot Development Companies

Purpose - This study analyzed the trends and cases of major countries and leading companies in the humanoid robot industry that requires high technology. Design/methodology/approach - This study conducted literature review using academic research papers, industry reports, and press releases to find out trends and cases of major countries and leading companies in the global humanoid robot industry. Findings - The introduction of humanoid robots has already been extensively carried out across all industries.Accordingly, AMR(Autonomous Mobile Robots) with greater autonomy throughout the industry and humanoid robots, which are closely approaching human daily life, are expected to emerge as new markets that will lead the robot industry in the future. Research implications or Originality - In order to develop the domestic robot industry constructively, systematic policies and support for the robot industry at the national level are required. Based on this, it is necessary to create an ecosystem of the domestic robot industry and secure competitiveness in the humanoid robot market and the service robot market through its own R&D.
