Modern knowledge culture and Publishing activities of Sam-Cheon-Risa(三千里社)

이 글의 목적은 삼천리사의 출판활동을 검토함으로써 지식문화의 역사적 양상을 재고해 보려는 데 있다. 삼천리사는 식민지시기에 시사종합지를 발행한 잡지사들 중 가장 오랫동안 존속한 잡지사였다. 동시에 문학 앤솔로지 출판을 선도하며 1930년대 책시장에서 적지 않은 영향력을 발휘했다. 광복 후에도 단기간이긴 했지만 시사종합지 및 각종의 책을 출간하며 출판활동을 재개했다. 그러나 삼천리사의 출판활동에 관한 연구는 식민지시기에 한정되어 있다. 이는 광복이라는 정치사적 사건을 기준으로 지식문화사의 시대구분을 식민지시기에 한정하는 통념으로 인한 것이다. 삼천리사 출판활동의 전모뿐만 아니라 지식문화 근현대의 연속성 및 불연속성을 재고하기 위해서는 광복 이후까지 지식문화사를 검토하려는 거시적 문제의식이 필요하다. 이 글은 그런 시도를 위한 첫걸음이다.

The purpose of this article is to review the historical aspect of knowledge culture by examining the publishing activities of Sam-Cheon-Risa(三千里社). Sam-Cheon-Risa was the longest-running magazine among the magazines that published current affairs magazines during the colonial period. At the same time, it led the publication of literary anthologies and exerted considerable influence in the book market in the 1930s. After liberation, it resumed publishing activities, albeit for a short period, by publishing current affairs magazines and various books. However, research on anthologies’s publishing activities is limited to the colonial period. This is due to the common sense that the division of the history of knowledge culture is limited to the colonial period based on the political event of liberation. In order to review not only the entirety of anthologies’s publishing activities but also the continuity and discontinuity of modern knowledge culture, a macroscopic awareness of the problem of examining the history of knowledge culture up to the liberation is necessary. This article is the first step toward such an attempt.
