Exploring EdTech Through Affordance Theory to Implement a Digitally Integrated Special Education Curriculum

본 고는 어포던스이론을 기반으로 디지털기술이 통합된 특수교육 교육과정에 서 에듀테크 활용의 방향성을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 어포던스이론은 학습 자와 학습환경 간의 상호작용을 효과적으로 유도하는 개념적 틀로, 장애학생의 다 양한 학습요구에 맞추어 개별화된 학습을 지원하는데 유의미한 역할을 할 수 있 다. 본 연구에서는 특수교육분야에서 활용되고 있는 에듀테크의 효과연구를 기반 으로 4가지의 유형, 즉 이동 및 접근성 지원, 몰입형 학습환경 제공, 학습 동기부여 를 위한 게임형 도구, 학습자 맞춤형 지원 에듀테크의 4가지로 분류하고 유형별로 어포던스 요소를 검토하고 각각의 활용 방향성을 제시하였다. 어포던스를 기반으 로 해석되는 에듀테크는 장애 학생의 학습 접근성을 높이고 학습 몰입을 증진하 며, 자기주도 학습 경험을 강화하는데 도움이 될 수 있다. 특히 어포던스 이론을 적 용하여 최신 디지털기술이 교육현장의 요구에 부합하고 교육적 활용의 가치를 탐 색하는 기반을 마련하였다. 본 연구는 특수교육 현장에서의 에듀테크 활용에 있어 디지털 학습환경 구성의 판단 근거가 될 수 있으며, 향후 특수교육환경에서 학생의 학습경험을 높이고 개별화를 위한 기반이 될 것이다.

This study seeks to investigate the implementation of EdTech grounded in affordance theory inside the digitally integrated special education curriculum. Affordance theory offers a conceptual framework that efficiently directs interactions between learners and learning environments, significantly aiding personalized learning to address the varied educational requirements of students with special needs. This research categorizes EdTech in special education into four types: mobility and accessibility support, immersive learning environments, game-based tools for enhancing learning motivation, and individualized support for learners. Each category of EdTech is analyzed through affordance aspects, with particular recommendations for their implementation provided. EdTech, analyzed through the lens of affordance theory, can improve learning accessibility, promote learner engagement, and facilitate self-directed learning experiences for students with special needs. This study proposes a basis for investigating the educational use of modern technology in addressing the requirements of educational environments through the use of affordance theory. This research provides an empirical framework for educational decision-making concerning the utilization of EdTech in special education and establishes a premise for improving and personalizing the learning experience for students in future special education settings.
