This paper addresses the meaning and strategies of integrating instruction and assessment, which is considered a new paradigm in student assessment. The integration of instruction and assessment involves conducting instruction and assessment based on lesson objectives and achievement standards, while the assessment results serve as feedback, providing students with information for self-directed learning and teachers with insights for improving teaching methods. This approach aligns with assessment for learning and assessment as learning. Through this integration, students can monitor their learning process, while teachers can gain valuable information about the effectiveness of their teaching methods and make improvements. Additionally, strategies for integrating instruction and assessment include: linking instruction, learning, and assessment around achievement standards, formative assessment as assessment for learning, performance assessment focused on the process, ④ process-centered assessment, encouraging student participation in assessment, and utilizing backward design.
