It was confirmed that Korean lacquer is a natural material with a very long history through the relics of the Red pottery period in the Neolithic Age. Lacquer has excellent functionality in terms of durability, waterproofing, preservative, and heat resistance of objects by forming a film as well as adhesive. These lacquerware were produced through various techniques such as wood core lacquerware, gold lacquerware, culling, and cooperative lacquerware, and the exterior was decorated with godmother, eggshell, mother-of-pearl, and metal. Through scientific investigation and analysis of lacquerware artifacts, characteristics of lacquerware could be grasped, and technology and culture, including possession, could be examined. In addition, it could be presumed that the shape of the tools and the materials were sanctioned, cut, and molded through wood tools excavated such as the ruins of Sinchang-dong, Gwangju, and Dahori, Changwon. However, although the techniques for painting from ancient times to modern and contemporary times are very diverse, research and arrangement of lacquerware by period are insufficient. This study aims to verify the estimation of lacquer techniques and tools by solving the deficiencies of lacquerware reproduction and restoration research and reproducing them using the possessions and tools used in that era.
