영아교사 교육으로서의 RIE 접근법 이해: 은유분석을 중심으로

A Metaphorical Analysis on the RIE Approach

본 연구는 도서 읽기를 통해 영유아교육방법인 RIE 접근법을 소개하고 영유아교사들의 이해정도를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 예비 교사와 경력 교사 57명으로 RIE 접근법을 소개한 도서를 읽고 독서토론과 관련 이론 및 영상 시청에 참여하였다. 연구방법은 RIE 접근법에 대한 은유표현한 것을 수집하였고 질적분석하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 분석된 대표 은유표현들 중에서 가장 높게 나타난 것은 지침서, 관찰, 정원사, 영아에 대한 존중, 기다림 등의 순서로 나타났다. 둘째, RIE 접근법에 대한 이해, RIE 접근법에 대한 교육신념, RIE 접근법에 대한 교육방법으로 나누어 은유표현이 분석되었다. 본 연구에 참여한 예비 교사와 경력 교사는 독서토론을 통해 RIE 접근법에 대해 이해할 수 있었고, 기존의 교육원리와 교육방법과 차이나는 RIE 접근법에서 제시하는 특징들을 이해하였다.

This study aimed to introduce the RIE approach through reading discussions and to understand the level of understanding of teachers so that it could be applied to early childhood education. The subjects of the study were 57 prospective and experienced teachers who read books introducing the RIE approach and participated in reading discussions. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively to show metaphorical expressions regarding the RIE approach. Looking at the results of the study, first, among the representative metaphorical expressions analyzed, the most frequently used were guidelines, observation, gardener, respect for infants, and waiting. Second, the metaphorical expressions were analyzed by dividing them into the understanding of the RIE approach, educational beliefs regarding the RIE approach, and educational methods regarding the RIE approach. The prospective and experienced teachers who participated in this study were able to recognized the RIE approach through reading discussions and understood the characteristics presented in the RIE approach that are distinct from existing educational principles and methods.
