흉추 척수증을 동반한 요추 추간판탈출증 환자의 한방 복합치료 치험 1례

A Case Report of Korean Medicine Treatment in a Patient with Herniation of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc with Thoracic Myelopathy

Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medicine treatment in herniation of lumbar intervertebral disc patient with thoracic myelopathy. Methods We treated the patient for 27 days using Korean medicine treatment such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, Chuna manual therapy and pharmacopuncture. Changes in the numerical rating scale (NRS), EuroQol five dimension(EQ-5D) index, Manual Muscle test (MMT) and symptoms were measured for assessment. Results After 27 days hospitalization, Low back pain NRS decreased from 7 to 5, Both leg numbness NRS decreased from 3 to 2, EQ-5D index and the chief complaints of the patient also were improved. Conclusions In conclusion, this case report might inform the effectiveness of conservative treatment of thoracic myelopathy and lumbar disc herniation and be useful for future clinical research.
